MEN OF 4DTUDE

FORTITUDE – Strength of mind that enables a person to meet danger or bear pain or adversity with courage (backbone, guts).

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you (NKJV)

Psalm 31:24 - Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord (NKJV)

This is where the rubber meets the road.  We need to muster up the courage and know that He is with us and accept the responsibility of our commission, that He has commanded us, and fulfill His call for us to be MEN.

DELIVERANCE – To set free.  Rescue from captivity, hardship, or domination by evil (formal).

Romans 8:2 - For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death.

We have been set free from the power of sin from the oppressor (Satan) through Christ Jesus.  We need to claim this daily and with authority, not by our might but by His blood.

DISCIPLE – One who accepts and helps to spread the teachings of another.  Somebody who strongly believes in the teachings of a leader, a philosophy, or a religion, and tries to act according to them.

Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance (composure) of his friend (NKJV).

We do this through our POWER TEAMS.  We men must hold each other accountable for the Christlikeness that should be evident in our lives.  We have the authority, as Men, in Christ to minister to each other.  It is our calling and our commission as Men.

DEVOTION – An act of prayer or private worship, to set apart for a special purpose.  Deep love and commitment.  Strong enthusiasm and admiration for somebody or something.

Mark 12:30 - And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.

“God is all” and “in all” is the attitude that we should have as men.  We as men need to worship the One who first loved us.  It is because of Him that we live and are able to do the things that we do.  It is through Him that all things are possible.

DISCIPLINE – Training that corrects, molds, or perfects.  Control gained by obedience or training.  Mental self-control used in directing or changing behavior, learning something, or training for something.

Proverbs 12:1 – To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. (NLT)

We must discipline ourselves in the choices we make and in the thoughts we allow in our lives.  If we are to be the head, we need to lead by example in love.  Because of the hectic life and all the trials and tribulations that come with it we can easily be distracted from walking a life of Christlikeness.  This is probably the most important aspect of our walks.  All the prayer in the world will mean nothing without the discipline to walk out what He has called us to.

Romans 12: 1-2 - 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (NKJV).
